# BGS Open - Kids/Youth Championship

**Description:** We are excited to host an opportunity for kids and youth to compete under a slightly modified IBJJF No Gi ruleset, which will be outlined for each division below.

The tournament will take place in Springhill, NS at the Arena in the CIBC room (first hallway on the left when entering the arena). 

We will have 3 mats running at the same time, please keep an eye on the schedule here on Smoothcomp for any match changes. You can access the live schedule by clicking the matches tab, and selecting the mat you want to view.

We will have 4 absolute divisions, -65lbs, -85lbs, -105lbs, and +105lbs. The winner of each division will be awarded a match on one of our future professional events this year. These divisions are open to Grey belts and above.

Spectators: 10$

Coaches/Instructors: Free

Takedown = 2 Points

Sweep = 2 Points

Knee on Belly = 2 Points

Guard Pass = 3 Points

Mount = 4 points

Back = 4 Points

***Please note that all positions must be controlled for 3 seconds to be awarded points***There is sometimes confusion with the points system and how they are awarded. It is beneficial to familiarize yourself with the points system to prevent confusion and conflict. Our referees always do their best and are willing to discuss issues after the match.
