**Description:** The BJJ Finnish Open 2016 is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition held on April 16th-17th, 2016, in Helsinki. The event follows IBJJF official rules, with specific fight times for different belt levels and allowed kimono colors (white, blue, black).

The Finnish Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (FBJJF) offers sponsorships to champions: €800 for blue, purple, and brown/black belt weight category winners (women's blue and purple/brown/black belt) towards travel costs for the IBJJF Mundial 2016, and €400 for all absolute category champions towards travel costs for any competition within the next year. Sponsorships are reimbursements for verified travel costs. Black belts unable to qualify for Mundial 2016 via ranking points may use their sponsorship for any competition within the next year.

Participation fees are tiered based on registration date. Weigh-ins occur with the kimono just before the first fight. The organizer does not provide insurance; a 2016 SBJJL license is required for Finnish participants. Spectator fee is €10 per day.
