**Description:** Welcome to the Kootenay Submission Series, the Jiu-Jitsu competition that grows and improves with every event, this one is setting up to be our best yet!  Set in an atmosphere of fun competition and camaraderie, this event is casual vibe with a single mat space which get the audience hyped.

Competition will start at 9:30AM, check the brackets and schedules tab for detailed times (always subject to change).

You can weigh in for your bracket anytime before your match, but recommend you arrive 30 minutes before your bracket starts.

🔥 Gi and No-Gi Divisions with IBJJF Rules:

Both divisions will adhere to the IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) rules, but with a significant twist – no advantages will be scored, ensuring a clear and decisive victory based solely on points and submissions. This approach promotes a more aggressive and engaging style of competition.

👊 Tie-Breakers and Overtime:
In the event of a tie, matches will be resolved using a single round of EBI (Eddie Bravo Invitational) overtime. This exciting format allows for a definitive conclusion to bouts, keeping the action intense and the results unequivocal.

🏆 Absolute Brackets – Submission Only:
The absolute brackets present the ultimate challenge: a single-elimination, submission-only format. Here, the only path to victory is through a successful submission, pushing competitors to their limits and showcasing the art of BJJ in its most thrilling form.  Absolute winners will also win a cash prize.   Blue and white belts or blue and purple belts may be combined into a single bracket.

Travelling from out of town? We have accommodation hook up for you, contact us for a discount.   We will also host a free Seminar and open mat on Sunday morning to make the most of your trip.

The event is expected to be live streamed.  So if you can’t make the trip, cheer on your family and friends from anywhere!
