# Major League Grappling Tournament 2

> Competition in Zamora, California, United States | January 17, 2026 – January 18, 2026

## Overview

**Event Type:** Competition

**Description:** Major League Grappling is a first-of-its-kind tournament built for the athlete. This is where every match counts, every performance matters, and every victory pays real money. Our mission is simple: reward competitors for stepping on the mat, taking risks, and pushing their limits.

For our second event, we are elevating the format and expanding the experience. Instead of a single 200 lb absolute division, we are introducing two weight classes to create more competitive and balanced brackets:

175 lbs and Under Division

176 lbs and Above Division

Each weight class will still offer three experience categories:

Beginners: White belts or under 2 years of Jiu-Jitsu experience.

Intermediate: Blue and Purple belts, or more than 2 years but less than 6 years of experience.

Advanced: Purple, Brown, Black belts.

All weigh-ins will take place on the day of the event. If a competitor is over the registered weight, they will be disqualified. There are no refunds under any circumstances.

Every victory pays. Competitors earn $200 for every match won, immediately recognizing effort, skill, and performance. There are no points or medals handed out for showing up. You win, you earn. Simple, clear, and athlete-focused.

Lose Your First Match? You Still Have a Shot.
If you lose your opening match, you move into the consolation bracket. Win that bracket, and you earn your $200. Every athlete remains in the fight, and every match still matters.

Hosted at Quail Point Hunt Club
This venue allows us to create an unforgettable full-day experience. Expect surprises, unique activities, and a setting that turns this event into a true family day. It is more than a tournament; it is a full community experience you will not want to miss.

The Pozo Returns
Our signature competition pit, known as The Pozo, will once again be the centerpiece of the event. Paired with food, a DJ, and multiple amenities throughout the day, this tournament is designed to be the most engaging and enjoyable gathering in the Jiu-Jitsu community.

Rules and Format
Submission Only: No points, no advantages. Victory comes through finishing your opponent or demonstrating clear dominance, aggression, and consistent submission attempts.
Judges’ Decision: If no submission occurs during regulation, the judges and referee decide the winner based on performance.
Final Match Overtime: Only the final will include a fresh five-minute overtime round to determine the ultimate champion.

Major League Grappling is more than a tournament.
It is an ecosystem built for the growth, success, and recognition of grapplers. We understand the dedication required to train, travel, and compete, and our goal is to give back to the athletes who make this sport great. This event is designed to be the most exciting, competitive, and enjoyable Jiu-Jitsu experience available today.

Welcome to the Future of Competition.
