# Mallorca Open Spring 2022 > Competition in Capdepera, Balearic Islands, Spain | April 30, 2022 – May 01, 2022 ## Overview **Event Type:** Competition **Description:** Due to some problems with our beach use permit at Palmanova beach we have to change the venue of our event, Mallorca Open BJJ - Spring Edition, to avoid risky complications. We apologise if this is an inconvenience but dealing with government bureaucracy can be a challenge in these instances. But, in the end we think we have a better location! The new location of the Mallorca Open BJJ 2022 will be held at the 4* Hotel Na Taconera - Sport hotel located in the Northwest region of the island called Capdepera. The address is: Carretera de Sa Font de Sa Gala, s/n, 07589 Font de Sa Cala, Illes Balears The tatami will be set up outdoors under shade in the paddleboard courts, next to the cafe, pool, beach volleyball and all only a 5 min walk from the sandy Cala font de Sala Cala beach. This is important because we want our event to be welcoming to families with a holiday feel to it. Hotel Na Taconera is a sport based hotel so they are delighted to host our event. But children do need to be under the supervision of their parents at all times. We have a special coupon code for all guests staying at the hotel. Rules are based on the IBJJF system. But here are some clarifications and slight changes. - All white/blue belt matches, kids, and all masters will be 5 min. All adult purple, brown and black 6 min. - NOGI Adult and Masters Brown/Black belt all leg locks permitted including heel hooks. NOGI ONLY. Does not apply to white-purple EXCEPT IN THE ABSOLUTE/ABSOLUTE FOR BLUES AND PURPLE NOGI - White belts are prohibited from jumping closed guard including jumping guillotines, triangles, and armbars but are permitted straight foot locks (ankle lock). - Weigh in will be done without the GI for both divisions. (swim suite, shorts, rash guard, or even your birthday suite if you ate that extra tapa the night before you weren't supposed too!) Weight in will happen during your first fight check in. -All competitors need to be in the warm up area 30 min before there match is scheduled and listen for their name. If you fail to come forward when your name is called you could be disqualified. - Golden point system. In the event of a tie, the match goes into overtime. Any point scored including an advantage, is an automatic win, and the match is stopped. -If there are 3 in a division then it will be a round robin, and if there are 2 in a division it will be best of 3. Everything else single elimination. BJJ schools around the world grade differently with kids. . Some begin at Grey belt no matter what the age and others jump to a coloured belt depending on age, and some schools give belts frequently while others don't. For this reason we have an experience level criteria. Kids must have participated in at least 20 class session to participate at the intermediate level but not exceed 70 sessions. For those with over 70 class sessions they are considered advanced. This is based on an honour system please speak with your child's instructor on the best way to proceed. Kids need to weigh in without their GI on. Please make sure you have appropriate weigh in clothing. If weigh in is close please have a towel handy for privacy to hang around them. For the ages 7-9 category if you have an experienced 6 year old we can consider entry. Please have their instructor email us to verify there level and abilities and we can waive this requirement.
