On December 4th we will be holding The Maritime Open, It will be a one day submission only NO-GI Tournament. It will be held at the Trenton Middle School. In Trenton Nova Scotia. We will also be holding Submission Teams 2 on the same day. Submission Teams 2 will be a free event for everyone. Our gift to you, for all the support through our 14 events so far. We will have 4 teams of 5 battle it out as well as 5 super fights.** Doors Open @ 8:30am | Event Starts @ 9:00am REGISTRATION: Adult Male Registration - $70, late registration $80 Adult Female Registration - $50, late registration $60 Kids and Youth Registration - $40, late registration $50 Absolute Registration $10 if registered in another division $30 if you only want to compete in the Absolute Division RULES NO-GI RULES: KIDS 9 AND UNDER: NO SUBMISSIONS NO SCISSOR TAKEDOWN REF'S DECISION KIDS 10-12 YEARS OLD: NO STANDING GUILLOTINES, OMOPLATAS, PULLING ON THE HEAD IN A TRIANGLE, CRANKING, WRIST LOCKS, REAPING, JUMPING GUARD, NO SCISSOR TAKEDOWN, NO SPINE MANIPULATION (TWISTER) OR ANYTHING BELOW THE WAIST. Kids: 7-9 and 10-12 will be divided up into Experience level and weight Female Youth: Ages 13-15 and 16-17 will be divided up into Experience level and weight Male Youth: Ages 13-15 and 16-17 will be divided up into Experience level and weight Adult male: Beginner, Intermediate, Advance will be divided up into Adult 18-29, Masters 30-39, Legends 40+ depending on numbers weights: Under 145, 146-160, 161-175, 176-195, 196-215, 216+ Adult female: Beginner, Intermediate, Advance will be divided up into Adult 18-29, Masters 30-39, Legends 40+ depending on numbers weights: Under 125, 126-145,146-165, 165+ MATCH LENGTH: Kids - 3 minute Youth - 4 minute Adult - 5 minute WEIGH-INS AND CHECK-IN Takes place on the day of the event. Kids don't weigh-in (COACHES HONOR) But still have to check-in and sign the waiver Youth Weigh-ins will be 8:30 to 9:15 Adult Weigh-ins will be 9:15 to 12:00 (please make sure you weigh in before your 1st match or you will be disqualification without refund) you will have a 1 pound allowance All weigh-ins will be in your NO-Gi Gear. Failure to make registered weight will result in disqualification without refund. ( If the competitor is under 18 a Parent or Guardian must sign the waiver) If by Thursday, December 2, 2021, you don't think you can make the weight let us know by messaging us on Facebook and we can move you up a weight class. ( better to compete with the next group up than not at all ) BRACKETS AND SCHEDULE: 24 hours prior to the tournament, the brackets and tentative schedule will be released. There will also be a large TV displaying the LIVE schedule at the event. You can also tell when your matches are coming up by checking the smoothcomp event page on your Phone during the Event. We will also make a courtesy call for your group before the bracket starts on the microphone to come to the mat. If you fail to present yourself when called you will be disqualification without a refund. Please be at the mat on time for your matches. Covid Policy In the event of cancellation related to Covid full refunds will be provided. We will be following Nova Scotia Covid-19 guidelines Proof of full vaccination will be required for all competitors, coaches, staff and spectators. When competitors are not grappling or warming up they must wear a mask. All coaches, Staff and spectators must wear a mask while in the venue. If you do not have one, they will be available for purchase. Hand sanitizer will be in plentiful supply.
