# MILANO BJJ SUMMER CUP 2026 > Competition in Coseano, Udine, Italy | July 05, 2026 ## Overview **Event Type:** Competition **Description:** GI AND NO-GI NATIONAL TEAM SELECTION FOR IBJJF EUROPEANS CASH PRIZES – MINORS CONSENT SUNDAY, MAY 10, 2026 NOVARA – Viale Kennedy 34, 28100 (PALAZZETTO DELLO SPORT STEFANO DAL LAGO) Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu GI and NO-GI competition open to all athletes (no membership required), Italian and foreign (including non-residents in Italy), aged 4 years and older. The revenue from the competition will be used to support the expenses of National Team athletes participating in the IBJJF European Championships and for team cash prizes. BJJ ITALIA supports the Italian National Team athletes (Gi and No-Gi) thanks to the revenues from the national tournaments it organizes. Therefore, all athletes participating in BJJ ITALIA events contribute to supporting the Italian National Team athletes, team cash prizes, and the promotion of a more meritocratic and accessible Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. TEAM CASH PRIZES In both the Gi and No-Gi tournaments, the top 3 teams will receive the following cash prizes: Total Prize Pool: Minimum €1,200 – Maximum €3,200 With at least 400 registrations — €1,200 prize pool: • €300 to 1st Team Gi • €300 to 1st Team No-Gi • €200 to 2nd Team Gi • €200 to 2nd Team No-Gi • €100 to 3rd Team Gi • €100 to 3rd Team No-Gi With at least 600 registrations — €2,400 prize pool: • €600 to 1st Team Gi • €600 to 1st Team No-Gi • €400 to 2nd Team Gi • €400 to 2nd Team No-Gi • €200 to 3rd Team Gi • €200 to 3rd Team No-Gi With over 1,200 registrations — €3,200 prize pool: • €800 to 1st Team Gi • €800 to 1st Team No-Gi • €500 to 2nd Team Gi • €500 to 2nd Team No-Gi • €300 to 3rd Team Gi • €300 to 3rd Team No-Gi Total registrations include both Gi and No-Gi tournaments. NATIONAL TEAM GI (10 ATHLETES) Adult Gi divisions will serve as selection trials for the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gi National Team, sponsored by BJJ ITALIA, for the IBJJF European Championships 2026. NATIONAL TEAM NO-GI (8 ATHLETES) Adult No-Gi divisions will serve as selection trials for the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi National Team. NATIONAL TEAM KIDS GI & NO-GI (8 ATHLETES) Kid 4 (10-11), Kid 5 (12-13), Kid 6 (14-15) divisions will serve as selection trials for the Kids National Team. POINTS Academy/Team rankings and National Team rankings will be based on: Black belts and Kids colored belts: • 25 points – 1st place • 10 points – 2nd place • 5 points – 3rd place • 3 points per win • 1 point per submission All other belts: • 5 points – 1st place • 2 points – 2nd place • 1 point – 3rd place • 1 point per win • 1 point per submission • 1 participation point for each athlete (except single competitor categories) Selection criteria: https://bjjitalia.it/national-team/ REGISTRATION Registration via Smoothcomp: • Weight classes deadline: Sunday, May 3 • Openweight deadline: Wednesday, May 6 Registration may close early if the limit is reached. For Juvenile, Adult, and Master age divisions: the year of birth or date of birth is considered (for example: an athlete who is 17 years old on the day of the competition but turns 18 during the same year may register either in the Juvenile or Adult division). WEIGHTS-IN: Weigh-ins open 8:00 – 16:00 Athletes must weigh in at least one hour before first match. • No-Gi: shorts + rashguard • Gi: full gi (white, royal blue, or black) • Under 16: may weigh without gi COMPETITION FORMAT Competition starts 9:00 AM Order: 1. No-Gi 2. Gi Athletes must: • Check Smoothcomp constantly • Be at the mat 10 minutes before • No loudspeaker calls AWARDS Top 4 athletes must go directly to the podium area after finals. Athletes are not called to the podium.
