About This Event
The North American Grappling Association (NAGA) is the world’s largest mixed grappling tournament circuit with over 750,000 competitors worldwide. On Saturday, October 9, 2021, NAGA returns to Broomall, PA. Children and Teens will compete first and then be followed by the Adult divisions. Come as an individual or as a team to compete in this no-gi & gi event.
We are very excited to be back in Pennsylvania! This is a large event and it is very important
that your read this entire email before attending the tournament!
There are no restrictions on the number of spectators
allowed. If you already purchased spectator tickets online then you are
all set. If you haven't already purchased spectator tickets,
you will be able to purchase them at the door, children under 8 are
$5, everyone else are $15 each.
Beyond the Marple Sports Arena parking lot, NAGA has rented
another large parking lot just 1 block from the venue. Please follow the NAGA parking signs to park
in this secondary lot. Please be aware,
vehicles will be towed in they are parked on a street with “No Parking” signs
or if they park in a neighboring business parking lot.
You will not be able to
enter the building on Friday until 6 PM sharp as the venue has other events
going on until that time, you may wait in the parking lot if you get there
before 6 PM. All competitors (Adults, Teens &
Children) can weigh in on Friday evening from 6 PM to 6:30 PM. If you weigh in on Friday,
you do NOT have to weigh in again on Saturday.
If you were unable to weigh in on
Friday night then you can weigh in on Saturday only at
(17 yrs. & under)

the day, match start times will change which is why you need to check
Smoothcomp often. Do not rely on a start time you looked at 30 minutes
ago. Occurrences such as matches ending quickly, an injury at a ring,
etc. impact division start times. Matches and entire divisions are moved
throughout the day in order to expedite the tournament. Please
constantly refresh Smoothcomp to see the latest match
times. Competitors please make sure you are ready to compete
when your match is called and that you have your coach with
you so the match can immediately start.

CREDITS
You can CANCEL and receive a full credit towards any future NAGA event for any reason. Competitors must cancel by 12:00 PM on Friday before the event by logging into your account and canceling your registration yourself. This credit is valid up to 1 year from the date you cancel.

All NAGA competitors will receive a free gift at the event. Some examples of the free gifts are NAGA Pop Socket, NAGA Back Pack or NAGA Chrome Emblem/Sticker. Competitors can upgrade their free gift to a long-sleeve hooded t-shirt for $5. Other NAGA items may be available/substituted at certain events.
Every competitor will check-in at our front desk when they arrive. Competitors will receive a card which summarizes the divisions they are competing in and the number of spectators they have pre-purchased. Competitors will then proceed to the weigh-in area to get weighed in. Adults must be weighed in 1 hour before their estimated start time which will be available the Friday of the tournament. Once weighed-in, competitors will pick up their free NAGA gift and then be interviewed by one of our experienced referees. The referee will make sure competitors are in the correct skill level(s). At this time, we will also share the size of your division(s). If you are the only competitor in your bracket, the referee will discuss what options are available and move you to the agreed upon bracket.
All competitors are given the option to check-in and weigh-in on Friday from 6 - 6:30 PM. If you do check-in and weigh-in on Friday evening you do NOT have to do it again on Saturday when you arrive. You only need to weigh-in once and you weigh-in without the gi.
All CHILDREN & TEENS (17 yrs. & under) must be checked in by 9:00 AM and weighed in by 9:30 AM.
ADULT competitors must be checked-in one hour before their scheduled start time which can be found when the brackets are released on Friday evening.
Anyone who arrives after these listed times will not be allowed to compete. For those who miss these deadlines, a credit will be issued that can be used for any future NAGA event (within one year of the event date), no exceptions. No refunds are given.
Children and teen competitors who want to compete in an additional higher weight class or older age group division can do so for $20 per division. You can add one additional weight class or age group per division type (no-gi or gi) for a total of 4 divisions. Competitors cannot do multiple skill levels.
As an example: a beginner 11 year old 85 pound competitor could add the 90-99.9 weight class OR the 12-13 year old category (not both). They cannot add the intermediate skill level. They can do this for no-gi, gi, or both. It is $20 for each division added. If they wanted to go up in weight for no-gi and up in age for gi (or vice-versa) we can accommodate that request.
If you would like to add an additional division (or two), call the office at 860-295-0403 or email info@nagafighter.com. The following information is required in order to add the extra division(s): which tournament, the competitor’s name, up age or up weight, no-gi/gi/both, payment method (credit card, PayPal, Stripe), and the email address (only needed if you are calling in). NAGA will email you an invoice with a link to pay for the extra divisions. Once payment is made we will copy the competitor into the additional division(s).
NAGA is bringing a truckload of grappling gear (board shorts, bi bags, rash guards, t-shirts, hats, patches, skull caps, stickers, dog tags, etc.) in children and adults sizes, for males and females. Check out the huge selection of gear and apparel at the NAGA event.
NAGA provides 2 chairs on each side of every score table, 1 for the coach of the competitor and the other for a family member or friend to shoot video or take photographs. Please note, no one else is allowed inside the barricades during the matches.
All NAGA events have a trained professional medic on sight. The medic will be visible and accessible to all in attendance. The medic is typically located between Rings 1 & 2.
NAGA awards championship belts to all Expert Children, Expert Teen, Expert Adult, Expert Masters, Expert Director and Expert Executive Division champions (Limit 1 belt per competitor per event for division winners). Absolute Intermediate, Absolute Expert, Absolute Blue Belt, and Absolute Purple Belt winners are awarded belts. Absolute division winners will win a belt even if they win one in their weight class division. This award is unrivaled in quality and appearance.
NAGA awards custom engraved SAMURAI SWORDS to all non-expert Children & Teen 1st place winners (Limit 1 per competitor per event). Custom medals will be awarded to all 2nd & 3rd place winners along with non-expert Adult division winners. Adult competitors who place 1st and win a gold medal will have the opportunity to obtain a samurai sword at the NAGA T-shirt booth for a nominal fee. All children (13 and under) who do not place 1st through 3rd will take home an award.
Male Adult Absolute Divisions are closed for this event, Female Absolute Divisions are still open.
NAGA awards either customized championship cups or huge championship belts to the tournament team champions. A team award can be won in Adult Overall, Adult No-Gi, Adult Gi, and Children & Teens Overall. Please make sure your team registers under the same team name.
