For Competitors who would like to register for our BJJ Australian Grappling Federation competition, please use the following codes to receive the 2nd Division discount on your Point Sparring division. **Early Birds** **Kids**2nd division code - PSS2DIVEBK25 **Adults**2nd division code - PSS2DIVEBA30 These codes will be active until Friday 28th April at 23:59 **Normal Registration** **Kids**2nd division code - PSS2DIVK30 **Adults**2nd division code - PSS2DIVA35 These codes will be active from Saturday 29th April at 00:00 until Tuesday 23rd May at 23:59 **Belt divisions split as follows:** White to Orange Belt ( White, Yellow and Orange) Green to Red Belt (Green, Blue, Purple, Red) Brown to Black Belt (Brown, Black) Boys and Girls separate divisions Ages from 5 to 17. Split into age groups as students enter. Possibly some divisions to be combined pending entry. **Point sparring** Knock out draw with repecharge Start 2 meter apart in standing ready position. Bow to opponent and referee signals the start of the match. First to score receives “senshu” in the case of a draw opponent with senshu wins the match. Punches to head or body = 1 point (jab to body no point) Body kicks = 2 points Head kicks = 3 points. If competitor has an 8 point lead they are declared the winner. **Match duration** 5 to 8 years 1.30 mins 9 to 17 years = 2 minutes **Rules** All kicks above the belt level. No knees, no elbows, no attacking joints. Penalties for over contact. No attacks to the neck or back of head. No open hand attacks. No dangerous throws or sweeps. No grappling or holding opponents uniform Exit the court on 4th occasion disqualified and opponent declared the winner. **Protective gear required** WKF approved mitts and shin instep protectors. Mouthguard, Helmet from age 5 to 12 years. **What to wear?** Full uniform and belt plus protective gear. Competitor Lists will be**LIVE**throughout the registration process and can be viewed by checking out the registrations tab on the event page. We encourage everyone to log in by the last day of registration and check their details along with the competitor lists, and not wait until the brackets are published and locked in to confirm such details. All competitors (or coaches, and parents) have until 11:59PM on Tuesday 23rd May to make any changes to their registrations. You can make these changes by logging into your account and modifying your registration details. After this deadline, the registration will become locked in, and there will be no further changes allowed. Competitors who are alone in their division should choose to either self-move themselves up a division. If you have trouble changing your division, please check out: https://support.smoothcomp.com/article/89-how-to-change-weightclass-or-cancel After the registration deadline, competitors who do not have anyone in their division group may be merged with another division. All athletes who remain solo in their divisions once brackets are released means they had no default merges available to them, and therefore there are no matches available for that competitor. They will receive a refund from Smoothcomp before the competition date. We issue refunds for Competitors who do not have a bracket after the last day for registrations. No cancellations. Once you register for the event, you cannot cancel. 48 hours prior to the tournament, the event brackets and schedule will be released. You will be able to locate both on the event page brackets and schedule tab. We will make a courtesy call for you on the microphone to come to the mat if you haven’t already presented yourself for the bracket. Please be at the mat on time for your matches. We ask that you make sure to be present in the venue at least 60 minutes prior to your division start time as well in case we are able to get a head start on certain divisions. The medical services that we provide are for the safety of our competitors whether they need ice, get injured, or need advice on previous injuries. We try our best to always provide a warm-up mat area for our competitors during tournaments. For cases in which events reach close to or full capacity, we could be restricted from having the floor space to create a warm-up area for our competitors. Remember, NO SHOES ON THE MATS. Australian Grappling Federation scoreboards show Competitor’s name, team, and flag, along with the match division and number. Division brackets along with their final placements are updated live and readily available on the results tab of the event page. We are always looking for experienced referees, event staff, as well competitors to help set up! We pay competitively, and at longer events, we also include snacks and meals for the day for workers. We trade free registration to compete in exchange for 3 hours maximum of referee work during the event.
