# ROGUE Grappling 14 - GENESIS > Competition in Riverview, New Brunswick, Canada | May 27, 2023 ## Overview **Event Type:** Competition **Description:** ROGUE Grappling returns for GENESIS - our 14th event, and the FINAL entry counting towards the Season 3 Grand Prix. One day in the Gi from Riverview, New Brunswick! SPECTATORS - PLEASE NOTE: To help us contend with the volume of crowds and ongoing maintenance of the venue, we will need to hire additional custodial support. All spectators ASIDE FROM COACHES will be required to pay a $5 spectator fee. Rules (Gi) Kids divisions, Under 9 years old - no submissions permitted; points only. No body triangle for control. Kids divisions, 10 - 12 years old - No standing guillotines, omoplatas, pulling the head in a triangle or submissions below the waist. No wrist lock. No body triangle for control or submission. Kids and Youth divisions, 13 - 17 years old - Nothing below the waist, no cranking or reaping, no spinal manipulation. No wrist lock. No body triangle for control or submission. *** Adult, White Belt - Nothing below the waist except straight ankle lock. No spinal manipulations or cranks. No body triangle for control or submission. No wrist lock. Adult, Blue Belt - Body triangle from back or closed guard for control is permitted, but cannot be used for a submission. Knee bar, toe hold and straight ankle allowed below the waist and wrist locks are permitted. Adult, Purple/Brown/Black - Can body triangle from back or closed guard for control or submission. All IBJJF Black Belt legal submissions except heel hooks; knee reaping is permitted (ie. a position like 4/11 will not result in a stoppage or DQ) All Divisions - No slams. No scissor takedown from standing. No jumping guard. No spinal manipulation. In the case of draw, matches will be decided by official's decision. In the event of a Round Robin bracket with a tie, the tie breaker will be decided by victories by submissions, followed by fastest submission, followed by point spread, followed by ref's decision. Match Length Kids and Youth - 3 minutes Adults - 5 minutes Absolute - 5 minutes Kids divisions will compete first, followed by Adult advanced belts, Adult beginner belts and ending with Absolutes. Registration, Pricing and Weigh Ins Weigh ins will be done in your competition clothing. Failure to make weight could result in a disqualification without refund. Please note that divisions may be combined or created depending on registrants at any given weight division or experience level. Divisions will be grouped together as close as possible by weight and experience level and are dependent on registrations. We do allow a 1 lbs. weight allowance. Early Registration starts February 16th, 2023 @ midnight and continues through Sunday, May 21st, 2023 at 23h59. Late Registration starts Monday, May 22nd at midnight and registration closes Wednesday, May 24th @ midnight. Weigh Ins will run from 8h30 through 10h, Kids matches will begin at 9h30. Kids and Youth, Early Registration - $50. Late registration $60. Adult Male, Early Registration - $80. Late registration $90. Adult Female, Early Registration - $50. Late registration $55. Absolute Only - $35 Absolute, if competing in another division - $15 PLEASE NOTE - MALE ABSOLUTE: White belts will not be permitted to compete in the Absolute without prior permission. If you are an experienced Grappler (ie. Judo, Wrestling) but a white belt in BJJ, please message us in advance of registration. As it stands, the Male Absolute is only open to Blue belts or higher. Registering for the Absolute bracket is your confirmation you meet these criteria. Failing to adhere to this rule may result in disqualification. FEMALE ABSOLUTE is open to all experience levels. To receive the discounted pricing you must have the divisions you want to compete in in your cart at the time of checkout.
