# XFC 1st European tournament BJJ & Grappling > Competition in Brussels, Brussels-Capital, Belgium | May 27, 2023 ## Overview **Event Type:** Competition **Description:** The FFBJB is proud to present its first European Championship. During a whole day, the best athletes from all over the world will compete to try to win the supreme title of european champion rewarded by prestigious medals or belts. **ALL BLACK BELT CAN REGISTER FOR FREE** ***Normal registrations :*** from 26-12-2022 to 13-05-2023 €30 for one category for adult €20 for the absolute €20 for one category for the children ***Late registrations :*** from 14-05-2023 to 20-05-2023 €40 for one category for adult €30 for the absolute €25 for one category for the children All athletes can change divisions through their own smoothcomp profile until the deadline on 20-05-2023 23:59 Check [this](https://support.smoothcomp.com/article/89-how-to-change-weightclass-or-cancel) link to see how you can change your registration A competitor will only be refunded if the organizer is not able to find him/her opponent by merging division. In any other case, we apply a no refund policy. Any athlete who has already registered in a category in Gi or No Gi can participate in the open weight class. Open weight is only available for adult men. This competition will be held under the**IBJJF ruleset**. Age: Mighty might : 4 to 6 years old Pee Wee : 7 to 9 years old Junior : 10 to 12 years old Teen : 13 to 15 years old Belts: White, Grey, Yellow, Orange, Green Weightclass: -21kg, -24kg, -27kg, -30kg, -33kg, -36kg, -40kg, -44kg, -47kg, -51kg, -56kg, -60kg, -64kg, -68kg, -72kg & +72kg ***Adults ( +16 years old)*** Belts: **Male GI :**White, Blue, Purple & Brown, Black **Female GI**: White, Blue and up Weightclass: **Male :**-57,6kg, -64,2kg, -69,8kg, -76,2kg, -82,1kg, -88,4kg, -94,4kg, -100,7kg & +100,7kg **Female :**-61,5 kg & +61,5 kg **Division merges** In the absence of opponents of the same weight and belt, merges will be made respecting as much as possible sex, and weight. If there is still no solution, we will get in touch with the athlete and find a way. Therefore you’ll have to answer within 24h or we must delete you from the List and Bracket and you will get refunded. **Match duration** ***Kids*** 2 minutes : Mighty might 3 minutes : Pee Wee 4 minutes : Junior & Teen ***Adults*** 5 minutes : White belts and Beginner 6 minutes : Blue belts and Intermediate 7 minutes : Purple & brown belts and Advanced 10 minutes : Black belts **Permitted submission holds and forbidden techniques** Check [this](https://smoothcomp.com/en/files/f0q6/108) illegal move card for all prohibited submissions holds and illegal moves for gi & no-gi per age and belt level. Note that this just a display of the prohibited moves and doesn't contain all the prohibited moves and situations. Reminder for children : no submission for the mighty might & Pee wee division (4-6 & 7 - 9 years old) **Referees judgement** In any given situation, the referee's call is final. This can be a disqualification call or a victory call. The referee will also make a professional judgement call on any submission hold situation in the kids matches. Whenever the referee feels the need to stop the fight to avoid injuries and protect the athletes, he will step in. This judgement is final and will not be undone. **Bracket type** The Brackets format is “double elimination”. If you lose, you have at least 2 fights and can win the bronze medal. The competitor list will be LIVE throughout the whole registration period and can be viewed by checking out the registrations tab on the event page. We encourage everyone to login before the deadline day of late registration and check their details along with the competitor list, and not wait until the brackets are published and locked in to confirm such details. After the deadline of the correction date there will be no more option to change anything on your registration. The events brackets and schedule will be released 1 week prior to the tournament. You will be able to locate both on the brackets and schedule tab and on your personal smoothcomp profile.**Keep an eye out on the bracket start and fight start time, the times are dynamic and can change.** **Have your ID-card of passport at hand** The official weigh-in begins at 08:00 AM. **Weigh-in is possible until 60 minutes before your scheduled division start time.**All competitors must weigh-in, also the +100 kg divisions. This is to check if the competitors are present. When a competitor is too late to weigh-in, this will result in a disqualification. Weigh-in can be made without Gi or fighting clothes. At the weigh-in there will be a**zero tolerance**policy. No deviation will be tolerated. Each team can bring their own coach. Coaches have to bring their ID-card or passport to identify when collecting their coaching card. At the mat there will be a coaching chair on each side of the score table where the coach has to take place. Only coaches and athletes are allowed to enter the competition area. All supporters and athletes that aren't waiting on their fight have to wait on the bleachers. There is a limit on the amount of coaches per athlete: - 1 coach 1-4 athletes - 2 coaches 5-9 athletes - 3 coaches 10-14 athletes - 4 coaches 15-19 athletes - 5 coaches +20 athletes This event has a zero tolerance policy regarding inappropriate behavior by coaches, parents/guardians, spectators and competitors. All in attendance must show some restraint when their students or team mates are competing. Any swearing, inappropriate gestures, violence (towards person or property) or berating the officials (regardless of any decisions they make) will not be tolerated. If this happens, the referee or the organization has the right to disqualify that competitor, or to ask the coach to leave the area. If those concerned do not comply with the referee or the organization requesting the coach to leave, the competitor will be disqualified from the event. - Exclusive medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. - Belt for 1st place in all Black belt category (both Gi and No gi) - Belt for 1st place in open weight class Division brackets along with their final placements are live updated to and readily available on the results tab of the event page.
