**Our Jiu-Jitsu** project is one of the first and most established of Aprove Social Projects, active since 2017. We offer free classes for children from 5 years old, teenagers and adults. More than teaching the martial art, we promote values such as discipline, respect and citizenship, as well as encouraging care for physical and mental health. With a tatami mat that is a benchmark in the western region of Paraná, we serve approximately 180 participants, including 40 athletes who represent Aprove in competitions. Our classes follow a progressive methodology, focusing on self-defense, technical development, and ethical training, within the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu grading system.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.
