10th Planet Etobicoke

The academy is led by head instructor Micah Brakefield, a highly accomplished grappler who holds two black belts - one in gi jiu-jitsu from De La Riva blackbelt Don Whitefield (earned April 2018) and another in the 10th Planet system under Eddie Bravo blackbelt Nabil Salameh. Micah's grappling journey began in 2000 with wrestling at Reynolds High School, where he earned provincial and national medals. After wrestling in college, he transitioned to mixed martial arts and began training jiu-jitsu in early 2011. Today, Micah continues to compete internationally on stages including Fight2win, Combat Worlds, and Submission Underground, bringing elite-level experience to his students. He is supported by a talented coaching staff including Mike Danchuk (BJJ Coach), Johnny Manicat (BJJ Coach, recent black belt), Steve MacDonald (MMA Coach), and Coach Quincy (Women's Muay Thai instructor).

10th Planet Etobicoke offers comprehensive programs for all ages including Preschool Martial Arts (ages 3-5), Youth Jiu-Jitsu (6-9 and 10-14), Adult Jiu-Jitsu (15+), Youth and Junior Muay Thai, Adult Muay Thai, Women's Muay Thai, Boxing, Wrestling, and MMA. The state-of-the-art facility features spacious mat space, clean changing rooms, showers, and parking. The academy prides itself on creating a welcoming, ego-free environment that is conducive to adult learning while maintaining high-level technical instruction.
