Eric Seo Jiu-Jitsu
Eric Seo Jiu-Jitsu (중계주짓수) is a premier BJJ gym in Seoul's Nowon-gu district, led by black belt instructor In Suk Seo (서인석). The gym focuses on high-intensity training, technical sparring, and competition preparation. Located near Junggye and Nowon stations, the facility offers comprehensive BJJ instruction along with judo and wrestling takedowns adapted for BJJ rulesets. Head instructor Eric Seo is an IBJJF-certified black belt who earned his 2024 IBJJF Asian Championship title in the Black Belt Master 1 division. With over 150 competition matches across 77 tournaments, he brings extensive competitive experience to his teaching. His lineage traces through Chris Kim (Kied Training Center), who promoted him to black belt in July 2022, following previous promotions from brown belt instructor Chris Kim (Team Passi, 2018), purple belt from Lee Sung-jin (Tetra Jiu-Jitsu, 2015), and blue belt from Kim Sang-rim (Jiu-Jitsu Rak, 2012). Eric began training in May 2011. The gym emphasizes animal drills, bodyweight conditioning, technical feedback, unlimited sparring, and practical takedown training. Training philosophy centers on delivering "real jiu-jitsu" - techniques that work in competition and self-defense scenarios. Eric Seo graduated from Kyung Hee University with a degree in English linguistics, speaks fluent English and Chinese, and worked briefly at LG Pantos after military service as a KATUSA (Korean Augmentation to the US Army) interpreter at Camp Casey.
