BJJ Team Bern Karkará is a non-profit club based in the heart of Bern, Switzerland, training on 170 m² of mats. Founded in 2015 by Hércules Da Silva (Black Belt 1st Degree), the gym was re-established as a member-run association in 2023 when a dedicated group of students came together to continue their BJJ journey. The team now trains under Prof. Robson "Robinho" Dantas, a 5th degree black belt under Prof. Jair Lourenço Medeiros, with a direct lineage to Mitsuyo Maeda through Carlos Gracie, Carlson Gracie, and André Pederneiras. Prof. Robinho is a two-time World Champion, two-time European Champion, and multiple-time national and international champion, bringing elite-level competition coaching to the team. The gym offers modern and effective Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training for self-defense, competition, MMA, or simply to develop better body awareness. Training programs include Fundamentals Gi, Fundamentals No-Gi, Advanced Gi, Advanced No-Gi, Kids Training (ages 6-12), and private lessons. BJJ Team Bern Karkará is a diverse group of people from various backgrounds united by their passion for Jiu-Jitsu and martial arts. The club maintains a relaxed, respectful atmosphere and welcomes visitors and exchange. Members benefit from a team chat for coordination, spontaneous training sessions, and the ability to contribute at their own pace through the club's democratic structure with voting rights at member meetings.
