The academy currently offers classes for individuals of all levels, adult and children alike. We will soon be offering women’s classes and kickboxing as well! Gabriel Tejada is a 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under JM Holland and Zach Maslaney. A 12 year practitioner and life long martial artist, Gabriel began studying Jiu Jitsu at the age of 17. BlackSmith Jiu-Jitsu

BlackSmith Jiu-Jitsu is a welcoming Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Niceville, Florida, devoted to the growth and well-being of members both on and off the mats. As part of the Trujitsu family under Professor Matt Baker, who received his black belt directly from Jean Jacques Machado in 2007, BlackSmith emphasizes the Trujitsu philosophy of maximum results with minimal effort. The academy is built on core values of trust, faith, loyalty, respect, and integrity, creating a family atmosphere where students learn not just the art of Jiu-Jitsu, but also develop confidence, discipline, and fitness. Led by owners and professors Lisa and Jimmy Smith, along with a dedicated team of experienced instructors, BlackSmith offers comprehensive programs for all ages and skill levels. The academy offers Adult BJJ classes, a women's-only program called Lioness Jiu-Jitsu led by Professor Lisa Smith, and children's programs including Little LionHeart (ages 4-7) and LionHeart (ages 8-16). VI Levels Orlando is a premier martial arts and fitness training center founded by Jonathan Burke, a Gracie black belt who trained directly under UFC Hall of Famer Royce Gracie at the Gracie Academy in Los Angeles. The gym's proprietary VI Levels system encompasses six core components: Mind, Fitness, Striking, Self-Defense, Takedowns, and Ground techniques, offering a comprehensive approach to martial arts training and personal development. Jonathan Burke brings world-class credentials to VI Levels, having served as an instructor at the Gracie Academy, trained celebrity clients including Shaquille O'Neal (10+ years), Ed O'Neill, and professional athletes, and designed combat training programs for U.S. Special Forces, Navy SEALs, Army Rangers, and federal law enforcement. As Team Leader for Federal Air Marshal training post-9/11, Burke contracted with United States Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, NC, bringing elite-level tactical training expertise to the Orlando martial arts community. The coaching team includes Ryan Keenan, Director of Youth Programs and Head Coach of Adult Striking, who brings a professional MMA record of 6-2 with experience in Strikeforce, Bellator, and World Series of Fighting. Ryan is a former Florida State lightweight champion and certified personal trainer specializing in sport-specific functional strength training. Jamie Burke serves as Personal Fitness Trainer, bringing expertise in nutritional guidance and sustainable fitness programming. Smash Brothers Jiu-Jitsu is an affiliated academy of the Cat5 Jiu-Jitsu Association, located in Panama City, Florida. The academy offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training in a welcoming, inclusive, and non-competitive environment, focusing on self-defense, fitness, and personal growth for students ages 5 and up. Founded as part of Professor Alberto Da Silva's vision to rebuild and strengthen the BJJ community in Bay County after Hurricane Michael, Smash Brothers carries forward the Cat5 philosophy of resilience, unity, and community success. The academy is staffed by homegrown instructors—raised right here in Panama City—who provide authentic training rooted in the purest form of BJJ. The academy is led by Professor Alberto Da Silva (Black Belt 2nd Degree), a retired United States Air Force veteran who began his BJJ journey in 1998 in New York City. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Professor Da Silva earned his Black Belt in 2016 under Master Luiz Sergio Correa of Marra Senki Jiu-Jitsu. His lineage traces back through Paulo Maurício Strauch, Reylson Gracie, Carlos Gracie Sr., to Mitsuyo Maeda. Additional instructors include Ibrahim Asfour (Black Belt) and Eyad Asfour (Brown Belt), both dedicated to developing students both on and off the mats.
