BCMA Seniors Boxing Spotlight | Broome County Martial Arts
From Broome County Martial Arts
"This video spotlights just a few of our senior members’ journeys through our boxing program. As coach- and senior myself, my personal prescription to promoting health through the aging process is the vigilant attention on 3 vital domains: Social, Intellectual, and Physical. It’s no doubt a challenging goal to check all 3 boxes, as natural barriers through aging increasingly arise- but in our class, my aim is always to create boxing training that can be modified at virtually any individuals’ level and pace- provide high level skills/techniques that will stimulate, challenge and exercise the mind- and create an environment that is positive, supportive, and conducive to building social connections. Our life destinations culminate much from pathways we create through our choices. We can passively wait and let life happen to us- or actively pursue and shape our time ahead.
Big thanks and huge respect to our 4 participating seniors, Joe Licata, Steve Krisko, Michele Krisko, and Mark Robinson."
