Ep. 29 | Sheree J. Wilson on Dallas, Walker Texas Ranger & Life Beyond Hollywood
From CMJJ Headquarters
What happens when two old friends sit down over coffee and start remembering the people, places, and moments that changed their lives?
In Episode 29 of Coffee Time with Carlos Machado, Carlos welcomes actress and producer Sheree J. Wilson for an unforgettable conversation about Dallas, Walker, Texas Ranger, Chuck Norris, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Clarence Gilyard, family, friendship, grief, and the next chapter of life.
Sheree J. Wilson is known around the world for playing April Stevens Ewing on Dallas and Alex Cahill on Walker, Texas Ranger. But this conversation goes far beyond her famous television roles.
Carlos and Sheree first crossed paths while working on Hellbound in Israel, long before Walker, Texas Ranger became the iconic series audiences would come to know. They revisit those early days and the incredible experience of being around Chuck Norris, Aaron Norris, Benny “The Jet” Urquidez, and the Machados.
Sheree tells Carlos about her first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu workout with Chuck — including the hilarious moment when she thought an exhausting 35- to 45-minute session was finally over, only to discover that it was actually just the warm-up!
Carlos and Sheree talk about why Chuck connected with Jiu-Jitsu and how martial arts influenced the culture surrounding Walker, Texas Ranger. They also revisit the early Machado family days in California.
The conversation then moves into television history.
Sheree shares stories from Dallas, including working with Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray, and what it was like joining one of the most successful television shows of its era.
She compares the experience of Dallas with Walker, Texas Ranger, describing the long days, action sequences, martial arts, car chases, explosions, location filming, and the incredible team that made the show possible.
Sheree opens up about a difficult period of her life involving the loss of several loved ones and explains why she needed time away from the spotlight to heal, grieve and be with family.
But this isn't a conversation that ends in sadness.
Sheree is looking toward the future.
She talks about new creative projects, producing, returning to acting, her new creative team, and an upcoming project filming in Budapest, Hungary.
If you grew up watching Dallas or Walker, Texas Ranger, this is a trip down memory lane.
If you're a fan of Chuck Norris or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, you'll hear stories about the relationship between martial arts and Hollywood that you won't want to miss.
And if you're simply interested in friendship, family, resilience and making the most of every season of life, there's plenty here for you too.
