The Multidimensional Artist: The Art of Controlled Violence
Grip & Grind: Episode 12

This episode features George; a singer, multi-instrumentalist, graphic designer, and martial artist. His story reflects how different forms of expression can coexist within one individual.

Beyond music and design, George uses jiu-jitsu as another form of creative expression. He views movement as art. Technique becomes rhythm. Control becomes timing. Position and pressure mirror musical structure; everything is built on structure, yet still allows for adaptation and flow.

He offers a unique perspective on the sport. What appears as fighting on the surface is, in reality, discipline, awareness, and creativity working in unison; controlled, intentional, and precise.

George encourages anyone with an artistic inclination to explore movement through jiu-jitsu. It serves as another outlet; one that challenges the body while offering a new language of expression.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
