Mia Funegra made history Last Year, Can She do it Again?

From IBJJF

May 15, 2026

Last year, Mia Funegra made history by becoming the youngest athlete ever to win a black belt World title in the light-feather division. Now, the young champion returns for the 2026 World Championship, this time moving up to featherweight in search of back-to-back titles.

A new division means new challenges, new matchups, and a whole new test against some of the best athletes in the world. Can Mia rise to the occasion once again?

Only 3 days left to register for the 2026 Worlds. Visit ibjjf.com to sign up today.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
