Inside Andy Murasaki’s Crown Training Camp

From IBJJF

October 12, 2026

Two-time Crown champion Andy Murasaki has been invited to every edition of the tournament. This year, he’s chasing his third title.

But 2026 has been a different kind of year. A big life change, a new home at AOJ, and only three competitions so far. He hasn’t stepped on a competition mat since Worlds. Six months into training with his new team, Andy says he’s improved more than ever, but he hasn’t had the chance to show it.

Now, with the bracket still to come and one of the most stacked fields in Crown history waiting, we followed him through camp as he gets ready for any opponent, any moment.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
