Road to The Crown: Nolan Stuart

From IBJJF

October 17, 2026

Nolan Stuart grew up running around tournaments with his coach, taking pictures of the athletes he wanted to become. Last year, he looked up into the stands at The Crown as the heavyweight champion.

Now he’s back to defend his title. Still loyal to his small home gym, Brea Jiu-Jitsu, still guided by Coach Dan, and cross-training at Carlson Gracie South Bay with his friend and featherweight Crown competitor Will Wilson. Two small gyms, one big goal.

He beat Adam Wardziński with an omoplata to win the title, and he’s not hiding it. Try to stop it.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
