English

Some people become arrogant after changing belts.

Not because the belt changed them…
But because the belt exposed who they already were.

A true martial artist becomes more humble with growth, not more entitled.
More willing to help, not more selective.
More disciplined, not more comfortable.

The belt is not a crown.
It is a responsibility.

The best black belts are usually the ones who still listen, still learn, still help the beginners, and still train with humility.

Power does not change people.
It amplifies them.

Your real level is not revealed by your belt color, but by how you treat people once you start receiving respect and recognition.

Be humble.
Keep learning.
Keep serving.

Ele apenas amplifica a pessoa.

Seja humilde.
Continue aprendendo.
Continue servindo.

It's a mess, I know.

My goal is to build the most comprehensive BJJ encyclopedia anywhere — but good, accurate data is genuinely hard to come by. Records, gyms, belts and nationalities are pieced together from public and community sources, so some of it is incomplete, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

That's where you come in. If you spot something off, tell me and I'll fix it — every correction makes this better for everyone. This website wouldn't be possible without the community.
