Andrew Eidson began practicing Judo in 1992 as a junior high student inspired by The Karate Kid. He transitioned to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 1999, training under 6th-degree coral belt Paulo Fernando Agusto. After earning his black belt in both arts and testing in São Paulo, Brazil, Andrew now holds a 3rd-degree black belt in BJJ and a black belt in Judo. He is registered under the Federação Paulista de Jiu-Jitsu. Andrew spent years as Paulo's assistant instructor at one of San Diego County's largest academies before opening Eidson BJJ. His teaching philosophy emphasizes family support and community connections, with a particular passion for coaching kids and watching their confidence transform through consistent training.
