**Nationality:** Australia

**Date of Birth:** February 21, 1994 (age 32)

## Bio

Ariel Tabak’s path from South Africa to Australia and eventually to the mats of Cicero Costha in São Paulo maps a career built on long-haul dedication rather than early prodigy hype. After trading basketball and taekwondo for MMA, he found his true home in the gi under Daniel Keane and Daniel Shaw in Melbourne, but the decisive shift came during a 2018 trip to PSLPB with his partner Hope Douglass. The fit was immediate, and Cicero Costha promoted him to black belt on June 4, 2019. Tabak’s game reflects the Costha pressure-passing system, and he regularly cites Levi Jones-Leary, Daniel Sainty, and Gui Neves as key influences.
