## Overview

**Name:** Arthur Detanico

**Date of Birth:** March 02, 1994 (age 32)

## Bio

Arthur Detanico emerged from the Serra Gaúcha region to become a late-blooming competitor who only seriously pursued grappling professionally as a purple belt. Starting at 13 under Mateus ‘Alemão’ Bernardi and Antônio “Jamanta” Moro at Academia JA, he earned his black belt from Bernardi at the end of 2018. His black belt debut performance immediately turned heads and brought him mainstream attention, with much of his rapid competitive output credited to mental coach Leonardo Chebar. Known for testing himself in the open weight division locally, Detanico’s most notable early black belt marker is his match against Luciano Bernert.
