About
Master Asu, a pioneer Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu figure in the Midwest, obtained his Black Belt in 1993 from Master Roberto Lage and the FPJJ in São Paulo, Brazil – one of the very first and few with this distinction in the early 1990s. In 1997, as an official representative of FPJJ, Master Asu established his first jiu-jitsu academy in Chicago. Since then, he has taught thousands of students, trained hundreds of competitors around the world, and produced dozens of world champions, effectively earning his title as 'The Scholar of Jiu-Jitsu.' With over three decades of jiu-jitsu experience, Master Asu is also a certified Kodokan Judo Black Belt and an MMA coaching expert.
