## Bio

Austin Oranday (“Gumby”) took an unusual path through the ranks, earning his goju-ryu karate black belt at age fifteen before receiving his BJJ black belt from his older brother Damion Oranday in January 2022 after nearly twelve years of training. Starting jiu-jitsu at ten under Jorden Rivas and Robert Yamashita at Elite MMA in Baytown, he was promoted to blue belt at fifteen. By 2016 his family opened a gym in Port Neches, expanding to a second location in Lumberton, which Austin and his mother Bambi took over full management of by late 2022, growing enrollment to over two hundred athletes competing on the IBJJF circuit within two years.
