## Bio

The rowdiest of the Almeida brothers, Caio Almeida started in taekwondo before a VHS obsession with Royce Gracie’s early UFCs pulled him into jiu-jitsu at 13. Training under Everdan Olegário alongside Sérgio Moraes and Marcelo Mafra, his cohort was passed to Rubens Cobrinha when coach Olegário recognized his own limits. After Cobrinha moved to Atlanta, Almeida joined Ryan Gracie’s academy under Gabriel Vella, who promoted him to black belt in 2009. He and his brothers Diogo and Gustavo built a competition-focused program that produced champions like Bianca Basilio, eventually splitting amicably from RGA in 2016 over philosophical differences.
