## Bio

Daniel Diniz came to jiu-jitsu at twelve through his cousin André Santos, only to lose his coach months later when Santos moved to the US. He cycled through the Pereira brothers’ academy in Brasília before settling at Checkmat under Pedro Franzosi, earning purple and brown belts there. After graduating university in 2019, Diniz relocated to California to train full-time at Lucas Leite’s La Habra affiliate and Leonardo Vieira’s Sigan Hill HQ. He was promoted to black belt by Leite in November 2020.
