## Bio

Eduardo Avelar, known as "Zero Nove," came up through Soul Fighters under Luis Carlos and later Leandro “Tatu” Escobar, earning his black belt on the podium of the 2019 World Jiu-Jitsu Championship. Starting judo and jiu-jitsu at age 8 in Rio Comprido, he committed fully to BJJ after his judo coach left. His first major international win came at 17 as a blue belt, taking both weight and absolute at the European International Open in Portugal. At brown belt he medaled at the South American, Brazilian Team National, and World Championships before the black belt promotion in June 2019.
