## Bio

Emilio Hernandez, better known as the “Scramble King,” earned his black belt under Ray Casias at Tennessee Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in July 2019 after climbing through the ranks as a standout competitor in the local and national scene. Born in Yakima, Washington, and raised playing soccer through high school, Hernandez turned to jiu-jitsu at age fourteen as an outlet for anxiety after moving to Tennessee, starting under Keefe Cothran in 2010 before switching to Casias’s academy. His signature scrambling style and relentless pace defined his purple and brown belt campaigns, culminating in a notable 2019 matchup against Manuel Macias.
