## Bio

Nicknamed the "Giant Slayer," Estevan Martinez climbed from the Albuquerque high school wrestling mats to the ZR Team US Headquarters in California, chasing the international results that eluded him in New Mexico's smaller circuit. After starting his jiu-jitsu under Kalo and Kale Lopez, he made the pivotal 2017 move to train with Lucas Rocha, Diego Ramalho, and Gabriel Sousa. Three years under Rocha earned Martinez his black belt on June 1, 2019, capped by a bronze medal at that year's IBJJF World Championships — the breakthrough that finally matched his ambition.
