## Overview

**Name:** Flávio Junqueira

## Bio

Flávio Junqueira traded national-level team roping for the gi as a teenager, starting jiu-jitsu at 14 under Alessandro Bandeira before moving to Alliance Matriz as a purple belt to train under Fábio Gurgel. His colored belt run was already strong, but the shift to São Paulo’s top room reignited his competitive form, stacking international titles that earned his black belt in December 2017 as Gurgel’s 101st promotion. After that, Junqueira returned to coaching, opening an Alliance affiliate in Piracicaba and quickly producing a world champion in Roberta Medeiros.
