## Bio

A product of the São Paulo talent mill, Guilherme Fernandes started jiu-jitsu late at 14 after a year of kickboxing, but his father Mario—a black belt under Cicero Costha—kept him on the straight grappling path. He cut his teeth at Desporto Para Todos under Ednaldo Pereira before joining Costha’s powerhouse academy, where he earned blue and purple. After switching to Dream Art under Isaque Bahiense and taking brown from former teammate Diego “Pato” Oliveira, Fernandes swept the IBJJF majors in 2023 and was promoted to black belt on June 2, 2023.
