## Overview

**Name:** Igor Silva

**Nickname:** Jegue,Igorila

**Date of Birth:** April 19, 1984 (age 42)

## Bio

A lanky teenager who started jiu-jitsu in 1998 because he was too young for weightlifting, Igor Silva built his entire early career under the Brasa banner, first with Roberto Traven and Muzio de Angelis, then solely under de Angelis, who promoted him through every belt. His defining moment came in 2006 when he won the World Championship and received his black belt from de Angelis on the same podium. A severe knee injury at the 2009 Brazilian National Cup (CBJJE) cost him nearly a year, and upon returning in 2010 he joined GFT (former Gama Filho) for a more competitive room while still teaching at the old Muzio de Angelis academy under Master Julio César. He also runs the Projeto Marc Romano charity for troubled teenagers.
