## Bio

Born January 29, 1995, in Teresina, Piauí, Ingridd Alves came to jiu-jitsu late in 2014 after a sedentary period left her over 100 kg, losing 30 kg within months of starting. A former competitive futsal and volleyball player, she took to grappling immediately — “love at first choke,” she later joked — and was choked unconscious in her first match, which only sharpened her drive. Training under Edilson Albuquerque in a small-town gym, she rose to become one of the most recognized names on the Brazilian circuit, cycling through affiliations with SAS and NewSchool Brotherhood, and later training extensively with Eduardo Cunha in Fortaleza before moving to São Paulo in early 2021 to join Guigo Jiu-Jitsu Academy.
