## Overview

**Name:** Janaina Lebre

**Date of Birth:** December 14, 1995 (age 30)

## Bio

In the women’s black belt lightweight division, Janaina Lebre carved her name as a relentless competitor from Ceará’s deep northeastern talent pool. Starting jiu-jitsu at 17 to accompany a shy friend, she won gold at her first tournament after only one month of training, her handball-bred athleticism immediately apparent. She earned her blue under Hamilton Caminha (HC) and her purple under Sérgio Cardoso (SAS) in Fortaleza. A 2018 trip to compete at the IBJJF World Championships led her to stay with fellow Cearense Régis Lebre, who would become her husband and promote her to black belt in August 2019.
