## Bio

A product of Cantagalo’s famous jiu-jitsu pipeline, Jansen Gomes emerged from the favela community that has produced multiple champions, starting his training in early childhood under his father Antônio Carlos “Bode” and brother Jonata Gomes. A standout from the yellow belt Mirim division, he won his first National title and became a face of Ricardo “Rico” Vieira’s social project in Cantagalo while training at Fightzone Academy in Copacabana. As a purple belt, he began dominating the IBJJF circuit in the United States, working with Checkmat coaches Leonardo Vieira and Lucas Leite. Jansen was promoted to black belt by his father in December 2021 while standing atop the #1 podium spot of the World Championships.
