About
Kohei Ebashi is a black belt instructor who began his jiu-jitsu journey inspired by Pride FC fighter Nogueira's technical mastery. Born September 10, 1984, Ebashi stands 175cm tall and competes in the lightweight featherweight division (62kg). Despite being a shy, reserved student nicknamed 'Sheep', he pursued training to gain confidence and strength. He has achieved four national tournament victories, 13 podium finishes across various championships, and two first-place rankings in Japan's annual standings. His notable achievements include 3rd place at the 2021 All Japan No-Gi Championship (competing at age 37) and runner-up at the 2012 Asian Championship. Ebashi has conducted seminars across Japan including Tokyo and Kumamoto, and has been featured in Brazilian jiu-jitsu publications and KBC Radio. His teaching philosophy emphasizes that technique and strategy allow smaller opponents to overcome larger, younger competitors, making jiu-jitsu accessible to all body types and backgrounds.
