## Bio

Kristian Woodmansee’s path from a random trial class at Shaun Smith’s Balance Studios to black belt under André Galvão at Atos is a tour of the East Coast’s hardest rooms. After earning his blue belt under Team Lloyd Irvin alongside Jared Weiner, Wilson Reis, and JT Torres, he chased warmer mats through Cyborg Abreu’s Miami camp before landing in Las Vegas with Robert Drysdale, who promoted him to brown belt in 2012 off podiums at the Pan American Championships and Las Vegas Open. By 2014 the bond with his old TLI teammates at Atos pulled him to San Diego, and in December 2016 Galvão awarded him the black belt while he was simultaneously working as a grappling coach in Michigan and preparing for his MMA debut.
