## Bio

Marcello Salazar, nicknamed "The Barbarian," earned his black belt from Murilo Bustamante in January 2004 after beginning his training in Rio de Janeiro in 1989. A product of the Brazilian Top Team lineage, he later taught at BTT’s affiliate academy in Texas. Salazar transitioned to professional MMA in 2003, building a record defined by finishing over 70% of his bouts via submission.
