## Bio

A globetrotting talent whose path to black belt wove through Fight Sports, Checkmat, and three continents, Philippe Pomaski first made his mark as a purple belt under Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu, winning No-Gi Worlds in 2012 before relocating to Santos, Brazil to train under Rodrigo Cavaca and later Gabriel “Palito” Rollo and Thiago “Baiano” Abreu at Checkmat’s The House affiliate. Promoted to black belt by Leo Vieira in 2018, Pomaski’s game reflected the positional pressure of his mentors, though his competitive peak came earlier in the colored belt ranks. Born in Basel in 1991, he returned there after his black belt promotion to pursue political science.
