About
Professor Rafael Miyashiro has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for 14 years and serves as the Head Coach at Chess Club Jiu-Jitsu. His journey in BJJ began by accident when he joined a fitness gym that offered boxing classes, and the boxing coach invited him to try BJJ. It became an instant passion that transformed his life, making BJJ his top priority. Rafael's philosophy emphasizes that BJJ is a humbling sport where big egos have no place, and the constant frustration involved creates the will for continuous improvement. He believes the life lessons learned through martial arts—discipline, respect, and resilience—are key elements that change people's attitudes towards life, relationships, work, and family, contributing to a better future for society.
