## Overview

**Name:** Sebastian Rodriguez

**Date of Birth:** September 02, 1995 (age 31)

## Bio

A product of Costa Rica’s Deportivo Saprissa soccer youth system, Sebastian Rodriguez found his competitive home on the mats after a 2016 IBJJF Worlds loss convinced him to seek elite training. He joined Murilo Santana’s Unity Jiu-Jitsu as a purple belt, eventually receiving his black belt from Santana on May 23, 2021. Rodriguez’s path through the New York City gauntlet, from local Costa Rican medals to the Unity competition room, marks him as a late-blooming grinder shaped by Santana’s famously unforgiving room.
