## Overview

**Name:** Travis Stevens

**Date of Birth:** February 28, 1986 (age 40)

## Bio

A two-time Olympic judo medalist for the United States, Travis Stevens crossed over to Jiu-Jitsu in 2012 after a Lisfranc fracture sidelined him from judo prep, joining John Danaher's squad at Renzo Gracie Academy in New York. Danaher fast-tracked him through the ranks—purple to brown in months, black belt by November 2013—citing Stevens' elite judo base and prior exposure to Dave Camarillo's classes at AKA. He competed under BJJ rules at Copa Podio and the World Expo before opening his own academy in Wakefield, MA, where his teaching leans toward ADCC-style grappling rather than IBJJF guidelines.
