A product of the Crazy 88 Academy system under Julius Park and Jon Delbrugge, Vannessa Griffin emerged as one of the most decorated lower-belt competitors of her generation before receiving her black belt in June 2020. Starting jiu-jitsu at age 13 after moving to Elkridge, Maryland, she trained on a near full-time schedule from her yellow belt days onward, amassing IBJJF World, World No-Gi, Pan, Pan No-Gi, and European Open titles across the juvenile and adult divisions.
