## Overview

**Name:** Vicente Junior

**Date of Birth:** July 21, 1977 (age 49)

## Bio

A product of the northeastern Brazilian jiu-jitsu diaspora, Vicente Junior came to the sport late after a five-year judo foundation, sparked by watching a friend’s blue belt tap judo black belts at will. He earned his blue and purple under Diojone Farias before migrating to Rio de Janeiro to train under Ricardo De La Riva, who promoted him to black belt in July 2001. A move to the United States in 2009 to compete in the IBJJF New York International Open led to a coaching stint in Delaware and the co-founding of BJJ Conquest in Maryland.
