Following the world-wide growth of this format the Southwest Sub is the regions very first Submission Only Championships under this rule set. This Gi and NoGi event has divisions for all ages and ability levels. ** TIME**- Doors open 10.00am with first match at 11.00am **DATE**- Sunday June 1st 2025 **PLACE**- Parish Wharf Leisure Centre, Harbour Rd, Portishead, Bristol BS20 7DD **FIGHT MORE - PAY LESS **Same great price but double the matches! Sounds good? As Bjj Black Belts we, the owners of Pro Sport Grappling know how important mat time is and how frustrating it can be when you only get one match at an event. That’s why for this event we aim to give all competitors a minimum of 2 matches per division, even if you lose your first match! So, for example if you enter both Gi and NoGi divisions we aim to give you at least 4 matches*. In this format no points or advantages are scored or recorded. In the event the match time ends without a submission the referee will decide the winner based on who is controlling & dominating the match and who has had the most locked-in submission attempts. Also skill levels are in the Sub Only format of Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. You may enter at the level of your choice but our recommendations are :- **JUNIORS** Beginner - White Belt or under 18 months training Intermediate - Grey Belt or under 4 years training Advanced - Yellow, Orange & Green Belt or over 4 years training **ADULTS** Beginner - White Belt or under 18 months training Intermediate - Blue Belt or under 4 years training Advanced - Purple, Brown & Black Belt or over 4 years training **OTHER INFORMATION **- Spectators pay on the day £5 - Junior divisions will be in the morning where possible **DIVISIONS AVAILABLE **Junior - Juvenile - Adult - Masters **COACH PASSES **Every gym will be allocated gym passes based on the number of competitors. Our male & female absolute divisions are Open Weight & Open Grade under IBJJF Black Belt Gi & NoGi rules. There no early weigh-in option but you will only need to weigh-in once if competing in both Gi and NoGi Divisions. Please make sure you register in the correct weight division as failure to make weight will result in DQ without refund. There is NO TOLERANCE on weight categories and all weigh ins are**WITHOUT Gi.** We run a Smart Registration and Smart Weigh-In system which uses your Smoothcomp ID barcode.
