Takado
Espoo Takado is one of the first, if not the first, Finnish clubs to start serious training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The foundation of Takado BJJ's teachings has been Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and today Alliance BJJ. Our head coach Alexandre Paiva is one of the founders of the Brazilian Alliance organization. Alexandre Paiva is also a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion (Mundial 1999) and is particularly known for his technical expertise. Alexandre Paiva has visited Finland to hold camps and has acted as a judge in the BJJ competitions we organize. It has been considered important to have direct contact with the best Brazilian trainers and fighters. Takado's BJJ section is led by Markku Juntunen, who is an instructor authorized by Alexandre Paiva and has been awarded the first black belt rank in Finland. Takado has been successfully represented in competitions related to the sport, BJJ and lock wrestling competitions, where Takado has been the best club in Finland in several Finnish championships. People who train in our club have also participated in freestyle fights. Belt ranks are a measure of progress, but in Brazilian jujutsu, special patience is required in this regard. The sport has retained its realism in Takado and obtaining a belt rank requires real performances. Belt exams are organized at regular intervals. Invitations to the belt exam and instructions on the required things come well in advance, and more experienced people help with preparation for the exam.
